Hard Times to Live: A Sad Poem Grip

Hard Times to Live, A Sad Poem Grip, See, O, How Quickly Breaths Slip!

Everyone in his/her life goes through a phase called ‘hard times’.  Some keep on fighting, while others give up and lose sight of life. Their life becomes like a small boat in the broiling sea. They find their time not an easy one to endure. They give hope. All of a sudden, for them, all good things come to an end.

However, on the contrary, those who keep on fighting have a good chance to get back their good life. They thrive on difficulties and never lose sight of life. Therefore, they have a good chance to find the shore. They don’t give hope. For them, all of a sudden, all good things don’t come to an abrupt end.

What Popular Poets Said

Everyone faces difficulties in his/her life, even the best poets. However, when the going gets tough, the tough get going. Accordingly, they never stopped what they believed in. They believed in doing good and bringing good to home through their writings. And sure they did!

There are many well-known poets who have written poems dealing with the feeling of sadness. And they also told us about how to overcome it. A few names include ‘Solitude’ by Ella Wheeler Wilcox, ‘It was not Death, for I stood up’ by Emily Dickinson, and ‘We Wear The Mask’ by Paul Laurence Dunbar.

Dirge Poem by William Shakespeare

William Shakespeare doesn’t need a great introduction, his words speak for themselves!

I love reading all kinds of poetry, including sad poems, poetry on suicide, happy poems, motivational two liners, etc.

Once I had a chance to read Dirge Poem written by William Shakespeare. The poem is awesome and it really attracted me to the realm of poetry.

The entire motivation behind this post comes from there. So, I decided to put it here.

Dirge

COME away, come away, death,
And in sad cypres let me be laid;
Fly away, fly away, breath;
I am slain by a fair cruel maid.
My shroud of white, stuck all with yew,
O prepare it!
My part of death, no one so true
Did share it.

Not a flower, not a flower sweet,
On my black coffin let there be strown;
Not a friend, not a friend greet
My poor corse, where my bones shall be thrown:
A thousand thousand sighs to save,
Lay me, O, where
Sad true lover never find my grave
To weep there!

Death Call from Heaven: A Sad Poem for Ages

Like I said, Dirge Poem by William Shakespeare had inspired me many years ago. And again, I draw inspiration from it to find myself a few lines.

The name of the poem is Death Call from Heaven. This sad poem narrates chaos and randomness in life. The sadness has gripped the life hard and it won’t let its hold to loose. Poor life pleads and further slips into the darkness.

Death Call from Heaven

Chaos in life, be gone,
In death doth the glory;
Bitterness for lane
Of life, be judged unholy!

My breaths got stuck in dew,
There were claims unknown;
My pain, known by just few,
Good time bids never shone!

A cruel master doth harm,
A fairy ouster from heaven;
My shares of sorrows calm,
A death note from heaven!
