As we step into the Happy New Year World, it is paramount that our lives consist in a plenty of happy vibes, strong will power, and motivation to do well. And all this won’t be possible without good health – indeed, just fit is not healthy as Shifu Yan Lei explains in this video Fit Is Not Healthy: A Shaolin Monk’s Guide to Exceptional Fitness.

Good health will indeed need good sleep and high daily activity, but it will also need a good balanced diet with lots of protein. In fact, science recommends consuming at least 30 grams of protein for the day’s first meal, i.e. breakfast.

In his book ‘The 4-Hour Body: An Uncommon Guide to Rapid Fat-Loss, Incredible Sex, and Becoming Superhuman,’ the author Tim Ferriss also suggests the same quantity of protein half an hour after shunning the bed.

Cheers to Wealth, 30 Grams of Protein to Health

If you’re obese, thanks to loads of everyday junk,

Then add 30 grams of protein to be rid of blue funk –

Sam’s fat father lost 19 pounds in just one month

And his big belly brother 22 in little over a month!

Proteins keep us full longer and ready,

Regulating blood-sugar levels steady;

With it will decrease carbohydrate cravings

Of pizzas, sweets, and delightful cake dressings!

At least 40% of breakfast should be protein:

Take two or three eggs if you’re keen,

Cottage cheese or turkey bacon otherwise,

Or drink a protein shake on the count to thrice!

Not to forget the Tulsi tea or yummy almond milk;

Those who avoid trading meat and eggs for silk,

Must have ample legumes, seeds, and nuts

To stay healthy and wise and not get nuts!
